What is User Interviewing 101

User Interviewing 101 is a hands-on training that teaches you how to use user interviews during both the research and testing phases of projects. You will practice preparing, conducting, and analysing interviews to gather reliable data for design decisions. Unlike general interview training, this course focuses on specific techniques such as probing for motivation and context, identifying bias, and translating insights into design. You will learn how your interviewing behaviour directly affects the quality of your design outcomes.

Learn how to conduct effective user interviews to make better decisions in research, design, and any context where understanding people matters. Asking the right question at the right time prevents false assumptions and leads to stronger outcomes. This training provides structure, practice, and reflection, helping you run purposeful and insightful conversations. You will work with relatable cases in a safe environment.
