TOGAF training courses at Capgemini Academy
At Capgemini Academy, we offer multiple training courses that help you to both understand and apply the TOGAF® standard in your work. Our courses are taught by experienced experts who also work with these methods.
Why is TOGAF so important?
What is TOGAF®? The methodology provides a structured approach to organizing and guiding the process of designing an enterprise architecture. TOGAF includes a set of best practices, guidelines and tools to help organizations develop their architecture.
The Architecture Development Method (ADM), a phased approach to developing an architecture, is at the core of TOGAF. ADM is iterative and cyclical, meaning that the same process is run several times throughout the life-cycle of the architecture. This makes it possible to gradually add more details and respond to changes in business needs and priorities.
What is the role of a TOGAF expert in an organization?
The TOGAF® expert plays an essential role in designing, developing and managing the enterprise architecture. TOGAF experts use the TOGAF standard to organize and guide the architecture process. They help identify risks and determine the best approach for managing these. With their expertise, they can help organizations achieve their strategic goals and improve their business processes.
Why take a TOGAF training course?
TOGAF® training is the best way to become proficient with the TOGAF framework. You will become familiar with all the parts of TOGAF and apply these in your work. There is considerable personal supervision and latitude for asking questions. You also get acquainted with other trainees: a fine opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge. In addition, most TOGAF training courses prepare you for the official exam.

TOGAF in-depth
The TOGAF® methodology is cyclical and dynamic, which means that it is designed to adapt to changing business needs and technological progress. A few key points about how this improvement cycle functions:
- Initial phase: This phase determines the scope, defines stakeholders and establishes architecture, principles.
- Vision development: Analysis of the strategic objectives and the existing IT environment to form a clear architecture vision.
- Baseline and target architectures: Definition of the current and desired architecture in order to identify differences (gaps).
- Gap analysis: Identification of points of improvement between the current and the future architecture.
- Implementation planning: Drawing up a detailed plan for the implementation of the desired architecture.
- Implementation and migration: Implementation of changes using project management.
- Feedback and iterative refinement: Collection of feedback after implementation in order to improve the architecture continuously.
This cyclical approach ensures that enterprise architecture can constantly evolve in line with new business strategies and technological developments, allowing organizations to remain Agile and reinforce their competitive position.
