Objectives
The PRINCE2 Boot camp offers you the opportunity to take the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification in one week. During the first two days the fundamentals and basic principles of PRINCE2 are covered. This part of the training will be concluded by taking the official APMG PRINCE2 Foundation exam. The next part of the boot camp focuses on applying the foundation knowledge on a more practical level thereby achieving a higher level of insights in the how and why’s of PRINCE2. The second part is rounded off by taking the official APMG PRINCE2 Practitioner exam.

Target Audience
This Boot camp is suitable for project managers who have a fair amount of practical experience in the running and setting up of projects. They want to master the PRINCE2 methodology and obtain the Practitioner level qualification within one week.

Content
During the first days you’ll familiarize yourself with the terminology and you’ll come to understand why PRINCE2 places such an emphasis on:

  • Defined roles and responsibilities for project manager and project board
  • A well founded business case as foundation for the justification of the project
  • Controlling the project based on stages and tolerances
  • The use of product descriptions as the basis for making plans
  • The controlled approach of issues, risk and quality
  • The controlled approach to change

During day 3,4 and 5 of the PRINCE2 Boot camp these subjects will be further explored using:

  • Cases
  • Open questions
  • Project organization- and control issues
  • Relevant examples from real-life
  • Mock exams

Due to the nature of the exam questions for the Practitioner qualification a good knowledge of PRINCE2 as well as experience in project management is essential for having a fair chance of passing the exam. All required knowledge is described in the book Managing Successful Projects using PRINCE2 that is included in the training materials.

The training is based on the most recent version of PRINCE2 (2009). This version is consistent with previous versions but places more emphasis on tailoring the methodology to your own organization and your specific project situation. Thereby making it easier to benefit from all the advantages that working with PRINCE2 offers you. There is however a significant change made in the terminology used in the new version compared to previous versions.
